A great party!

What a fun day!
Open house was festive and filled with friendship..
We sent Joy to open the door - open - open - open...
Helma came in her funny elf hat.
So many of our friends come to share the day with us
Carolyn came in for a minute to visit.  She was a little jet lagged from just returning home from New Zealand.  We gave her the day off - poor thing...
Guess who came in this hat...

Of course our trusty old surger tried to give us trouble at the beginning of the day. But we told it who was boss and it surged like a charm the rest of the day.

By 4:00 we where exhausted!
Happy Holidays everyone!  Thanks for your business all year through!
Sincerely,
Helma, Joy, Betsy, Peggy, Wendy, Jamie and Mickey
Carolyn too...

Come in and feel festive...

Just a few more days before Christmas...
We wanted to share some of our wonderful displays.
Our Santa comes out every year.  He is so cool!
We have a few snowman block kits left.  They are only available December and January.
These kits will be gone after Christmas.
They make a great gift.  They come with everything to finish them but the thread.
They are shop exclusives!
 Beautiful Frames by Kay's Frames
We stitched a few of the cute Lizzie Kate Designs on perforated paper.  We have finishing kits available so that you can stitch them up and frame then yourself!  Very reasonable priced too.
We have a table filled with Lizzie Kate Santa Designs. This table looks so cute with it's red wagon and white feather tree.

Bright and cheerful is the theme for this display.
The fireplace always looks beautiful.  This piece is stitched over one on 25 count!
Come in and see us for a cookie and a warm drink. We would love to have a visit!

Closing today....

For now our plan is to be closed today....

After accessing the roads, the traffic by the store and the power we are going to take a sabbatical today.
Stay in safe and warm and we will see you tomorrow!

Check in with us before you drive in...

What a morning!
If you were planning to visit us today, wait a little while.
We are going in to see if we have power.
There was a power pole fire on Fort Union this morning.
I will post a like if you want to see the pole and the small explosion:
The intersection of 2000 East and Fort Union doesn't have traffic lights right now.
Be very safe if you have to be out....

Something really old....

Leave it to Carolyn to come home from seminar with a bag full of treasures.  We are so lucky that she does!
These scissors have mother of pearl handles and come from the Palais Royal in Paris.  This is a complex of shops in the "City of Light," Paris.
They are exquisitely carved, highly collectible, originally part of the ultimate set of needlework tools.
They measure approximate 4 inches in length.
What a treasure!

We carry the strong ones...

Our rack is overflowing!
We have a great variety of magnifiers in stock right now, and we only order the cute ones...
Many in the strongest strengths

A newly filled cabinet...

I had so much fun today!  I changed our cabinet and added a lot of new scissor frogs!  I had fun hunting for them and I almost hate to part with some of them...
I have not found glass in this color before.  Isn't it beautiful!  It isn't quite green or blue.  Sort of a sea glass color.  I am in love with this set.
The bowl behind is a beautiful peachy pink candy dish frog.
Of course I brought in quite a few clear glass pieces.  They really sparkle.  The sugar cup is called moonstone, and has a delicate white rim around the top.
I haven't brought in enameled brass before, but I thought since it was fall, this warm color is fitting.  They are made in India and I thought that it would give the stitcher who wasn't really into vintage a place to keep their scissors too!
Take a look at the blue frosted glass frog in this picture.  Unique isn't it.  What a find!

Did you notice the photo of the sweet lady in the background?  This was my darling "Gram".  My special grandmother.  She was an angel I loved with all of my heart.
And did you notice the cute sewing machine?  I started young on my very own blue metal machine.  Really young!  I even remember using it.  It was just a toy, but really worked.  The price on the box says it was $4.00!
Look how tiny the foot petal is - or in this case - the finger petal.
Now you know why I had sooo much fun redecorating the front cabinet.
Oh the memories....
