In a much more gentile world when ladies still carried hankies, we would find beauties like these.
Another wonderful ebay find by Lynn.
These are hand embroidered on cotton with many types of stitches.
Usually called wedding hankies, they were traditionally given as gifts to mother of the bride. They could also be fastened to a lady's cuff or pinned onto a neckline with a broach.
We wanted to share these beautiful hankies with you.
Carolyn saw this cauliflower pincushion in an issue of Inspirations magazine.
It was the winner of the pincushion challenge and the next issue had the instructions.
I can't believe anyone has enough patients to make that many french knots!
What a talented artist you are Carolyn...thanks for sharing.
